Your next role

As a Senior DevOps Engineer focused on Backstage, you will:

• Develop scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure on the AWS cloud platform.
• Develop infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, containerisation, and orchestration using tools such as Terraform, Kubernetes, and Docker.
• Setup, maintain and operate a cross-team collaboration platform using Backstage.
• Design and develop CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions to enable seamless deployment of applications and services
• Lead the implementation of automated testing and continuous integration processes to ensure code quality and reliability
• Lead the setup and configuration of monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure the health and performance of applications and infrastructure
• Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to understand their needs and provide DevOps support
• Provide and integrate solutions for security scanning and vulnerability assessment into the developer tool portfolio and CI/CD pipelines
• Lead the troubleshooting and resolution of infrastructure and application incidents to ensure stable operations and business continuity.

What do you need to be successful in this role?

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field
• 5+ years’ experience as a DevOps engineer
• Good experience with Composable Architecture principals, especially on an API first strategy.
• Excellent knowledge of Backstage Configurations & Operations.
• Excellent knowledge of automation with CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
• Excellent knowledge of Kubernetes / Docker development and operations with focus on AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service and AWS Elastic Container Service.
• Knowledge of security concepts with a focus on Backstage operations and using OpenID Connect with Microsoft Entra ID for authentication and authorization.
• Knowledge of developing streaming data integration using technologies like Kafka and AWS Kinesis
• Knowledge of orchestrating AWS cloud services using AWS Step Functions, AWS Simple Queue Service and Apache Airflow
• Experience cloud monitoring solutions like AWS CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus or OpenTelemetry
