Lead Hardware Engineer

Your new role

  • Creating specifications, architecture (including component selection), designing, and documenting reliable hardware solutions for IoT devices.
  • Designing schematics and layouts for electronic devices.
  • Developing plans and conducting validation tests to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Conducting engineering research for RED directive compliance and preparing devices for testing at external research units.
  • Developing and implementing production testing concepts for designed products.
  • Being an expert in using laboratory tools and equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, power supplies, etc.).
  • Providing support and maintenance for deployed products (handling ECO, EOL, cost optimization, bug fixes).
  • Initiating and leading project reviews and technical discussions.
  • Mentoring and supporting the team, delegating tasks, supervising the quality and timeliness of their execution.
  • Close cooperation with the Lead Firmware Developer and the Hardware and Firmware team to design reliable products and systems.
  • Co-creating the technology and product roadmap with the Lead Firmware Developer, making decisions regarding development direction and required infrastructure investments.

What you'll need to succeed


  • Practical knowledge of analog and digital electronics.
  • Knowledge of PCB design principles and the ability to apply them (DFM, DFMA, DFT).
  • Familiarity with at least one EDA software for PCB design (e.g., Mentor Graphics PADS/Cadence Allegro).
  • Proficiency in using laboratory equipment (multimeter, oscilloscope, power supply, network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, etc.).
  • Knowledge of RF issues required for proper antenna output design (antenna selection, matching circuits, etc.).
  • Familiarity with the most popular communication interfaces and protocols (UART/RS-232/RS-485, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, Modbus).
  • Knowledge of RED directive requirements (2014/53/EU).
  • Proficiency in English sufficient for reading and writing technical documentation.
  • Ability to make key decisions in electronics design and implement them in real projects.
  • Strategic thinking skills considering the long-term development of the company.
  • Creative and analytical thinking skills, independence, participation in industry training, workshops, seminars.
  • Good organization of work, openness, communication skills, ability to work in a team.
